Our Ministries and Apostolates

Day of Recollection

Time for reflection and prayer is a necessity for the spiritual (and mental) well-being of the human person. Much of St. Philip's ministry was engaged in cultivating the spiritual life of those who came under his influence. One rich Oratorian tradition has been extending the atmosphere of prayer of the Oratory into the lives, homes and businesses of those associated with the brothers and fathers of the house through spiritual direction and what has been called the 'little' or 'secular' Oratory.

St. Philip Neri House has initiated a tradition of mornings of recollection each month designed for women as well as evenings of recollection for men. Beginning at 10:00 am, the women's format includes Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in our chapel, along with two talks or meditations on various spiritual themes. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is also available during this period. The Day of Recollection ends at Noon. The men's evenings begin at 7:00 pm and follow the same format as the women's program. The evening ends at 9:00 pm.

Please call or email the St. Philip Neri House when you plan to attend one of these events.
